Jane Wainwright

Jane has more than twenty years of experience in legal services, including over a decade as a partner-owner at a top-tier multi-jurisdiction firm of Intellectual Property attorneys. 

During her time within the partnership, Jane was Head of Department for the Biotechnology patents team and an Executive Board member.  She also provided board-level input to HR and L&D projects throughout the business, and devised a partner-readiness development programme.

To advance her own leadership skills she undertook postgraduate studies in executive and business coaching. In the Coaching Culture Awards 2022, she was awarded runner-up in the Authentic Leader of the Year category.

She has long been an advocate for and frequent participant in mental health and menopause initiatives in the IP profession, and is a mental health first aider.

All of these people-focused experiences led Jane to set up Starry-Eyed Pragmatics to bring to a broader audience her extensive experience in people and leadership development, coaching, and wellbeing matters within partnership-led professional service firms.

Jane is a member of the International Coaching Federation (ICF), and has accreditations and certifications in several coaching and consulting tools, including Strengthscope, EQ-i 2.0, and Lego Serious Play. She has undertaken postgraduate study in Business and Personal Coaching  to receive a postgraduate certificate (PGCert) from University of Chester.

Jane brings a unique blend of informal professionalism to her work, through an efficient, practical approach undertaken in an open, relaxed, and empathetic manner.

Jane is proud to say she is a geek and especially loves Disney, Star Wars, Superheroes, Studio Ghibli, and Lego.  She is happiest when spending time with her husband and dog, having fun with friends, or travelling to any of the Disney parks or cruise ships around the world (or combining as many of the above as possible).
