Effective Feedback for IP professionals
A 1-hour training session on how to give and receive better feedback.

The Course
IP professionals need to be able to handle feedback in every aspect of their day-to-day work, from supervising more junior team members, being supervised by those more senior, through to receiving arguments and objections back on submissions filed at an IP office. Despite the necessity of feedback for the work to get done, our actual experiences of giving and receiving feedback are, overall, pretty rubbish. However, feedback really doesn't need to suck, for either person. This 1-hour workshop will cover the basics of feedback, the psychology of why it is so unpleasant (to give and receive), and the reasons why feedback is so unhelpful and ineffective. You'll learn techniques for not just giving feedback, but also for receiving and asking for it, and have the opportunity to practice within the safe space of the workshop before you have to do it out in the real world. You'll come away from the hour with improved confidence in your ability to provide feedback and a better understanding of how to handle being given feedback, even when it is not given in an effective manner. This training links well with our "Delegation skills for IP professionals" 1-hour training.
